TVS announced the partnership with BMW Motorrad
TVS Motors announced their partnership with BMW Motorrad. Both companies have signed a long term partnership agreement which was signed in a event held in Chennai. According to the partnership both companies will share their technologies and jointly develop lower displacement bikes which will be sold under different variants for both BMW and TVS. BMW bikes will be more premium with high end technologies and excellent build quality like their current models. while TVS bikes will be for the mass with affordable pricing and excellent performance.
BMW is now not present in sub 500cc segment and TVS is not present in 200-500 cc segment. This partnership will help both the companies to explore new segments and improve their position over their rivals. BMW Motorrad takes the responsibility of developing the bikes which will be done in Germany. While TVS will manufacture the bikes in two variants one for TVS and one for BMW. TVS will invest 20 million Euros in the partnership. BMW Motorrad hasn’t announced the money plans yet. Bikes will be manufactured in the TVS manufacturing facility in Hosur or Mysore. First product from the partnership will hit the market in 2015.
